Have Heart, Will Travel

How did you get your lunch today?

I bet it was a bit different than the manner of this majestic creature.

I was sitting outside with the family, enjoying the view and breeze of Cold Stream Pond when this bald eagle flew right overhead!  He then charted his course tactically to line up with his future lunch. Swooping down, he plucked the fish right out of the lake and absconded to a nearby rock.

We watched in amazement!

Mark jumped into a kayak and rowed out for a better view and got some pictures for those of us who stayed on shore. While he was out, some loons came over to say "Hi" also.  I believe some Grand Adventure serendipity was at work again today.  We always love hearing and spotting the mystical loons!

Spotting with his famous eyes.

Oh, that looks like a tasty morsel.

Right about here Mr. Bald Eagle was finding Mark's approach suspicious. Mark definitely didn't want his food, just his picture.

After a little snacking, the beautiful bird decided to take the rest to-go.

Bye-bye, Mr. Eagle!

The loon! Another gorgeous creature!

He showed off a little!

It certainly has been a magical beginning to our stay at the lake!  We're grateful for all God's creatures that we get to see and we'll sure keep our eyes open for more.
